Shining Moments is on it's own

Well, I just wanted to clarify for some people that my company, Shining Moments Consulting, will no longer be contracting its services through A Moment Like This Wedding Planners. I still support AMLTWP and wish them continued success. Working with them over the last 9 months has been a GREAT experience.

I will still be providing event planning services. I will also be operating the Wedding Bazaar, but instead I will be doing it on my own as well as the Wedding Workshops that I have done in the past. Nothing has really changed in the stand point of Shining Moments Consulting except that I will be advertising my own company again and it's my company name at the top of the contract instead of AMLTWP's.

So watch for more exciting ventures and deals from Shining Moments in the new year!

Happy New Year,
Teresa Reimer

A New Addition

For the last six weeks I have been a little preoccupied. As some people know, I was expecting a baby at the time of the Wedding Bazaar. I was supposed to have three weeks to go, but my newest addition to my family felt like he needed to arrive earlier. Jacob was born on November 6th.

As a planner, his early arrival sort of threw a wrench in my arrangements. Luckily I had some prior arrangements made but I was also going to have a birthday party that following weekend for my daughter who was turning 3 the day before Jacob was due. Therefore we were having her party ahead of time. Little did we know that Jacob obviously felt he needed to be the center of attention instead. I had made arrangements for helpers to come in and work at the party and luckily I wasn't needing to cancel it. Everyone helped out to ensure that Cassidy still had her special day, even though Jacob was only 5 days old.

How does any of this relate to being a wedding planner, you ask? Well, it is just another example of how "you never know what to expect" and how you deal with these interruptions is going to affect the outcome of any special day.

One aspect of a great wedding planner, is being able to think quickly on your feet. When looking for a wedding planner, they obviously need to be organized, but they have to be able to make split second decisions that will still give your day the "feel" that you are looking for.

From cake disasters to wedding crashers, a bride & groom shouldn't be bothered. That is what a wedding planner is for, to take care of these issues on the day of your function.
